The minimum stops mattering at 8 pages. Below that, a submission pays $0.0075 whatever its size.
Cold start: expect 10 to 30 s, occasionally minutes. This is a queue, and later items in a batch ride on the same start.
Using it.
- Send a PDF or a PNG, JPEG or WebP image. A PDF is billed by its page count, an image as one page. Set max_units to the page count; a PDF with more pages is refused as too_many_units, at no charge.
- The default output is Markdown in reading order. In a PDF of more than one page, each page starts with a <!-- page N --> comment. Set output to json for {page_count, pages: [{page, markdown, truncated}]}.
- A page that stops at 8,192 tokens is marked truncated and still billed. Encrypted or damaged PDFs fail as decode_failed, at no charge.
