Refunds

Who sells the pack

Payments run through Stripe Managed Payments. Under Managed Payments, Link is the seller you see at checkout and on your receipt, and it handles tax on the sale. What you buy is prepaid usage balance for Offpeak.

For counsel: confirm how Stripe's Managed Payments terms divide refund handling between Link and us, then align this page.

What needs no refund

Failed and cancelled items cost nothing. When a batch ends, the part of the hold it didn't use returns to your prepaid usage balance automatically. A successful submission pays at least the $0.0075 minimum. A file under 30 seconds bills as 30 seconds.

Your prepaid usage balance doesn't expire, so there is no deadline to spend it.

For counsel: the refund window, whether unused balance is refundable on request, and how statutory withdrawal rights apply to EU and UK consumers, given the service starts on first use.

What a refund does to your balance

  • A refund takes back the matching share of the pack from your prepaid usage balance. Tax refunded with it is separate and doesn't touch your balance.
  • If a running batch holds the money, the shortfall shows on your account as owed. Later releases and top-ups repay it first.
  • While anything is owed, new submissions are refused.
  • A refund doesn't suspend your account.

Launch seats

Refunding the pack that came with a launch seat ends the launch fare on whatever was left, and so does losing a dispute on that pack. The seat stays spent and isn't reissued.

Disputes

If a payment is disputed with your bank, we take back the disputed share in the same way and suspend the account while the dispute is open. If the dispute closes in your favour, or a bank's inquiry ends with no chargeback, we reverse that. We lift the suspension if the dispute caused it, and no other dispute is open or was lost. Otherwise a person decides.
